Hi-hat Pads

Like Cymbal Pads, Hi-hat Pads distributes modules across the zones of a hi-hat. Drag samples, samplers, controllers, effects, and more onto the zones, as on the other drum pads. Unlike the other pads modules, Hi-hat Pads also tracks your hi-hat pedal.

The zones and their abbreviations in the matrix are:

  • bow (B)
  • edge (E)
  • bell-shoulder (BS)
  • bell-tip (BT)
  • ping (P)
  • pedal (Pd)

Pedal​

The vertical pedal slider, between closed and open, shows the hi-hat pedal position. It follows your physical pedal as you play, and it defaults to closed.

It's also a real parameter. Drag it to set the pedal position by hand, for example when no pedal is connected, or right-click it to assign a modulator or macro to it.

The pedal position drives any Hi-hat Pedal Controller inside, which blends its layers from open to closed.
