Soft Clipper

The Soft Clipper sets a decibel ceiling and clips anything that goes above it, softening the waveform around the peak. The result is harmonic distortion rather than a digital clipping sound.

Control	What it does
Ceiling	The level (−36 to +36 dB) above which the signal is clipped. Defaults to −0.5 dB.
Softness	How gradually the clipping sets in around the ceiling, from 0 (hard) to 1 (very soft). Defaults to 0.2. Sessions from before 2.8 keep the softness they were saved with.
Makeup gain	Gain after clipping, −36 to +36 dB.
Dry/wet	The mix between the unprocessed and clipped signal.
