Compressor

The Compressor narrows the dynamic range of a signal by turning down anything that rises above a set threshold. It's quick and easy to use — just add the effect, turn up the ratio and pull down the threshold to get the effect pumping.

Parameters​

Threshold​

The level above which the compressor starts reducing gain.

Ratio​

How much the signal above the threshold is reduced.

Attack​

How quickly the compressor clamps down once the signal crosses the threshold.

Release​

How quickly the compressor lets go after the signal falls back below the threshold.

Knee​

How gradually the compressor transitions into full compression around the threshold.
